Pedal Commander vs. Fukin Tuned: What’s the Difference?
Both Pedal Commander and Fukin Tuned throttle response controller eliminates throttle lag and offers you four adjustable driving modes to fine-tune your vehicle’s gas pedal response. Whether you’re looking for better fuel economy in traffic, snappy acceleration on a back road, or full and instant power delivery, both units offer real results.
Pedal Commander and Fukin Tuned work almost identically when it comes to how they improve your throttle response. The only real difference lies in how you interact with them:
-
Pedal Commander: Comes with a compact and sleek controller unit that you can install on your dash as long as the wiring and your vehicle’s interior design allows. It also connects to your mobile phone via Bluetooth, giving you two ways to control throttle settings.
-
Fukin Tuned: 100% wireless. The module is compact and only contains the hardware that modifies the throttle mapping, so you don’t actually need to reach the module to use the different settings. All adjustments are made through your mobile phone via Bluetooth. It's perfect for those who want a completely hidden setup.
No matter which throttle response controller you choose, the how to install steps are practically the same.
How to Install the PC or FT Throttle Response Controller in Under 15 Minutes
Here’s a breakdown of the simple install process for both units:
Step 1: Prepare Your Vehicle
-
Turn Off the Ignition
Make sure the engine is turned off. Remove the key, keep it away from the vehicle as it will trigger the ECU back on, and open the driver-side door.
-
Let the ECU Power Off Completely
Wait 10–15 minutes to let the ECU and throttle system fully power down.
-
(Optional) Disconnect the Battery
Not always necessary, but if you want to be absolutely sure that the ECU and throttle system are completely off, you can disconnect the battery terminals.
Step 2: Plug In the Controller
-
Locate the Throttle Pedal Connector
Find the OEM harness of your gas pedal assembly, usually behind or at the side of it.
-
Unplug the Factory Connector
Disconnect the stock plug from the pedal; you may just pull it, or need a small pry tool or a flathead screwdriver if the connector has a locking mechanism.
-
Connect the New Harness
Plug the male connector of your FT or PC throttle response controller into your pedal end and the female connector into the factory harness. Make sure everything clicks into place securely. If the plugs have locking tabs, make sure they’re secure.
-
Tidy Up the Cables
Use provided zip ties to keep the harness tidy and out of the way of your feet or pedal.
Step 3: Mount or Hide the Controller
-
For Pedal Commander:
You can mount the compact controller unit to the desired location using the supplied wet wipe, bracket, and adhesive or stash it away from sight.
-
For Fukin Tuned:
Since it’s wireless, you can tuck the module anywhere and forget about it.
Step 4: Connect via Bluetooth
-
Download the App
Search for the Pedal Commander or Fukin Tuned app in the App Store or Google Play.

Pair Your Device
Open the app and follow the steps to pair your phone with your throttle response controller. For Fukin Tuned, you need to run a simple registration process: After scanning for available devices in the app, select your Fukin Tuned unit, enter the 7-digit serial number, and that’s it.
